Help Me Rhonda, Live, 1974
The Beach Boys were never as hot on stage as they were in 1974. Having been named Best Live Act by Rolling Stone, the band was at it's performing peak, and this tune is a rousing testiment to the excitement of what a Beach Boys concert was in the mid-70s.
For a band that already had such a long litany of hits just 12 years into its nearly 40 year history, keeping the old hits fresh was always a challenge. It was an inspired choice, then, to let Dennis handle the lead this night for what must be one of the most smoking renditions of Help Me Rhonda ever caught on tape.
